Janice Faye Gandy

Hortense-Janice Faye White Gandy, 72 of Hortense, passed away Sunday evening (June 24, 2018) at her residence following an extended illness.

Born in Brooksville, FL., her parents were William Buford White, Jr. and Lula Mae Touchton Hope. She was also preceded in death by one son; a sister, Donna Hope Lewis; a brother, Mitchell Dean White; and a niece, Crystal Simpson.

Ms. Gandy was retired from the McIntosh Co. School System as a Parapro. She attended the Under His Wings Pentecostal Church. She loved crafting, spending time with family , working with plants and she loved Elvis.

Survivors include her husband, Robert Lamar “R.L.” Gandy of Hortense; a son and daughter-in-law, Charles F. Smith (Jody) of Brunswick; 2 grandchildren, Madison Alicia Knight and Pegan Smith; 1 great grandchild, Kenneth Wood, III; a sister, Lucy Kern of Hortense; and also several nieces, nephews, other relatives, and a host of friends.

A memorial service will be held Tuesday (July 3, 2018) at 12PM at Under His Wings Christian Fellowship Church with Rev. Chad Middleton officiating.
