James Ralph Wogomon

Waynesville- James Ralph Wogomon, 67 of Waynesville, passed away Monday (August 18, 2025) at UF Health North in Jacksonville, FL.

Born in Merced, CA., his parents were Theodore Leroy Wogomon and Berna Jean Lishman. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Darrell Wogomon.

James served in the United States Navy and retired as Chief after 24 years of service. He was a member of Waynesville Missionary Baptist Church and loved his family, being a Sailor, hunting, fishing and sitting on the porch with his dog.

Survivors include his wife, Cathy Wogomon, of Waynesville; his son and daughter-in-law, Stephen H. Wogomon (Elaine), of Louisiana; two daughters and sons-in-law, Becky L. Taylor (Jeff), of Maryland, Bobbie Highsmith (Brian), of Waynesville; eight grandchildren, Asher (Nancy), Stephen, Theodore, Cheyenne (Tyler), Bentley, Joshua, Alexandria and Gant (Darryll); five great grandchildren, Jett, Eleanor, Silas, Bo and Tucker; a brother, Gene Wogomon, of Texas. Also several nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.

A Memorial Service will be held Friday (August 22, 2025) at 11AM at Waynesville Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Randy Wainright officiating.

Arrangements are with Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta.
