James W. Daniels,Sr.

Mr. James Wilbert Daniels, Sr., 67, of Waynesville passed away late Saturday evening (Oct.5,2019) at The Hospice of The Golden Isles in Brunswick after an extended illness.

Born in Brunswick, Georgia his parents were Matthew Wilbert Daniels, Sr. and Betty Jean Spradley Daniels. He was also preceded in death by his loving wife, Wanda Jean Stephens Daniels. A grandson, Tyler Head, sister, Betty Sue McCarthy, 3-brothers Donald, Joseph and Ronald Daniels.

Mr. Daniels worked many years at Seaboard Construction until he went into retirement due to becoming legally blind. He loved to fish and enjoyed doing mechanic work.

Survived by his 2 daughters and a son-in-law, Sheila and Chad Head, of Waverly, Joanie Cox, of Nahunta, 2-sons, Jamie Daniels and Jonathon Daniels, both of Waynesville, 8-grandchildren, Bradyn Head, Maggie Head, Zachary Head, Alexis Johns, Christian Cox, Brooklyn Cox, Amory Daniels and Aiden White, 1-great grandchild, Wesley Head. 2-brothers, Richard Daniels (Rita), of Waynesville, Mack Daniels, of Ludowici, 4-sisters Brenda Crosby (Melvin), of Nahunta, Janie Turner, of Brunswick, Faye Straight (Gail), of Brunswick and Dolly Green (Jefferey) of Nahunta, Also several nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Visitation will be Monday evening (Oct. 7, 2019) starting at 6 P.M. at the funeral home.

A funeral service for Mr. James W. Daniels, Sr., will be held at 11 A.M. Tuesday morning (Oct. 8, 2019) from the chapel of Frye Funeral Home in Nahunta, with Rev. Jimmy Carter and Rev. Charles Florey officiating.

Burial will follow in The Daniels Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Lonnie Spradley, James Spradley, Joshua Daniels, Jason O’Neal, Zachary Head and Christian Cox.
