James Elmer Box

James Elmer Box, 88 of Brunswick, passed away Sunday morning (June 9, 2019) at Magnolia Manor following an extended illness.

Born in Darien, GA., his parents were W.A.J. Box and Bessie Viola Nettles Box. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Ida Lee Box; his step granddaughter, Sherrie Cowan; and his brothers, Clifford Box, Harold Box, Eugene Box, Millie May Hyers, Lillie Bell Box Murray.

Mr. Box served in the United States Air Force and retired after many years with Georgia Pacific. He was a member of The Advent Christian Church in Brunswick. He enjoyed camping, traveling, and loved his grandchildren and going to their games.

Survivors include his stepdaughter and son-in-law, Lynn Barber (Herbert), of Blackshear; his stepson and daughter-in-law, Jerry Gailey (Wanda), of Waynesville; step grandchildren, Herbie Barber (Robin), Suzanne Denison (George), Dennis Gailey (Nicole), Matt Gailey, and Shawn Gailey; step great grandchildren, Elizabeth Denison Cox (Adam), Lindsey Denison, Clay Denison, Alexis Cowan Crumbley (Donald), Brandon Barber, Natalie Barber, Tiffaney Gailey Fender (Brandon), Paige Gailey, Braydon Gailey, Drayton Gailey, Dominic Gailey. Also several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

A memorial service will be held Sunday (August 18, 2019) at 1:30PM at Advent Christian Church, 1812 Ellis St. Brunswick, GA.
