Hubert Ernest Hewett, Jr.

Nahunta – Hubert Ernest Hewett, Jr., 78, of Nahunta passed away Friday afternoon (August 28, 2020) at South Georgia Medical Center in Valdosta after a brief illness.
Born in Pell City, AL, his parents were Hubert Hewett, Sr. and Opal Vandergrift Hewett. He is also preceded in death by his wife, Hilda Herrin Hewett; a brother, Ken Hewett; and a sister, Nell Hewett.
Hubert was a retired Chief of the United States Navy and was a lifelong fan of the Atlanta Braves and the Alabama football team.
He is survived by his son, Mike Hewett of Nahunta; a sister, Marilyn Langston of AL; and also several nieces, nephews and other relatives.
A private service will be held at Oak Grove Cemetery.
Arrangements are with Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta.
