Hester Mae Scott

Brunswick – Hester Mae Morgan Scott, 89, of Brunswick passed away Friday morning (November 23, 2018) at Sears Manor Nursing Home in Brunswick after an extended illness.

Born in Nahunta, GA her parents were Isaac Eugene Morgan and Maude Mae Lyons Morgan. She is also preceded in death by her 1st husband and the father of her children, Olin Jefferson Dowling; her 2nd husband, Herman Scott; a daughter, Annette Dowling Tucker; and 6 brothers, Donald Morgan, Jessie Morgan, Hugh Morgan, Elton Morgan, Arnie Morgan, and Kenny Morgan.

Hester was a homemaker and a member of The Church of God of Prophecy in Sterling. She enjoyed working in her flowers.

Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Charles J. Dowling (Sylvia) of Brunswick; a daughter, Marilyn Clayton of Brunswick; 8 grandchildren; several great and great great grandchildren; 2 brothers and a sister-in-law, Gerald Morgan (Betty) of Nahunta and Lannis Glendon Morgan of Atkinson; a sister, Rita Morgan Lewis of Brunswick; and also several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

A funeral service will be held Tuesday afternoon (November 27, 2018) at 2PM at The Church of God of Prophecy in Sterling with Rev. Lannis J. Lewis and Rev. Chris Boyd officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service starting at 1PM at the church.

Burial will follow in Palmetto Cemetery in Brunswick.

Pallbearers will be Brandon Dowling, Shane Dowling, Bryan Clayton, Greg Dowling, Jamie Tucker, and Douglas Lewis.

Arrangements are with Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta.
