Hazel Chesser Farrill

February 12, 1947 — October 24, 2021

Nahunta- Hazel Chesser Farrill, 74 of Nahunta, passed away Sunday (October 24, 2021) at Satilla Hospice House in Waycross, Georgia with Covid related symptoms. She passed peacefully with niece Ana Chesser, Aunt Frances Hall and Jimmy Farrill, father of her son, attending her in her final hours with love, Bible scripture and prayer.
Born February 13, 1947 to the late John Sherrod Chesser and Lillie Mae Moore Chesser. She was also preceded in death by 3 brothers, Harry Chesser, Charles Chesser, and Richard Chesser.
She was a 1966 graduate of Hoboken High School. She worshiped at Hortense Wesleyan Church and was a retired Certified Nurse’s Assistant. Mrs. Hazel enjoyed being with her family and especially her nieces and nephews, Ana, Erin and Levi, they were her sweethearts. She could engage younger children by singing “Jesus Loves Me” with and for them. She was a repair seamstress, doing patching, darning and hemming garments. With her son she enjoyed traveling, window shopping and frequenting consignment stores. Attending worship services, revivals and gospel sings were a favorite with her son. She was a Heron fan watching all local school sports. A western omelet at Huddle House was often savored with long time friend Ed Sullivan of Blackshear.
Survivors include her son, William Farrill, of Nahunta; 2 brothers and a sister-in-law, John E. Chesser, Sr. (Wilma), of Hoboken, and David Chesser, of Nahunta; 2 sisters and a brother-in-law, Melissia Howe, of Thalman and Ruby Moody (Jerry), of Hortense. Also several nieces, nephews, other relatives, and a host of friends.
Graveside Services will be held Tuesday (October 26, 2021) at 11AM at Oak Grove Cemetery with Rev. Trey Keene, Rev. Phillip Rowell, and Rev. Jonathan Herron officiating. Visitation will be held thirty minutes prior to the service, at the cemetery.
Arrangements are with Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta.
