Gregory Hall Tharpe, Sr.

October 20, 1959 — April 28, 2022

Waynesville-Mr. Gregory Hall Tharpe, Sr., 62, of Waynesville passed away Thursday morning (Apr. 28,2022) at his residence after an extended illness.
Born in Arlington, Virginia his parents were Harry Randolph Tharpe and Gladys May Lamp Tharpe. He was also preceded in death by his stepmother, Ellen Tharpe; two grandchildren, Kalvin Harrison Tharpe and Maggie Grace Tharpe; and a sister, Randa Ashton.
Mr. Gregory was a Floor Specialist with The ABM Company before his health failed him and was a member of Little Memorial Baptist Church in Hortense. He was a big fan of The Jacksonville Jaguars and enjoyed playing video games and was a car enthusiast. Mr. Gregory was also an Eagle Scout in his younger years, one of the highest honor achievements one can receive in The Boy Scouts of America.
Survivors include his loving wife, Theresa May Hersh Tharpe, of Waynesville; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Gregory H. Tharpe, Jr. (Samantha), of Waynesville and Thomas R. Tharpe, of Douglas, GA.; a brother, Robbie Tharpe, of Nokesville, Virginia; his sister and brother-in-law, Sharon Carmel (John), of Ruther Glen, Virginia; also several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
Visitation will be held Monday evening (May 2, 2022) from 6-8 P.M. at Frye Funeral Home in Nahunta, GA.
Arrangements are with Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta.
