Gerald James Peete

Gerald James Peete aka Bug, 63, of Nahunta passed away Saturday, January 31, 2026, at his residence after a sudden illness.

Born in Folkston, GA to Jerry Peete and Eva Crews Horne. He attended Business College in North Georgia and was a Veteran of the U.S. Army. Mr. Peete worked as a semi-truck driver, log truck driver, and a dump truck driver. He was preceded in death by his wife, Vicky Purvis Peete, and one nephew, Jerrod Thrift.

Survivors include his daughter, Amber Nicole Peete of Clayton, GA; three grandchildren, De’Ana Marie Peete, Shana Nevaeh Peete, and Na’Kobe Kingston Massey; his mother Eva Crews Horne of Nahunta, GA, his father, Jerry Peete of New York; one sister, Nancy Selena Hurst (fiancé Jason Stricklin) of Cleveland, GA; one nephew, Barret Thrift.

Visitation will be held Thursday (February 5, 2026) 12:30 pm – 1 pm at Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta.

A funeral service will be held Thursday (February 5, 2026) at 1 pm at Frye Funeral Home Chapel, Nahunta with Rev. Randy Wainright officiating. Burial will follow in Bethlehem Cemetery.
