George Edward Strayer, II

Waynesville – George Edward Strayer, II, 62, of Waynesville passed away Thursday evening (June 12, 2025) at his residence after an extended illness.

Born in Brunswick, GA his parents were George Edward Strayer and Evelyn Carr Strayer.

George worked for Brunswick Floors and loved spending time with family and friends. He enjoyed going fishing and old cars.

Survivors include his wife Tina Strayer of Waynesville; a son and daughter-in-law, George Edward Strayer, III (Holly) of Waynesville; a daughter and son-in-law, Samantha Newton (Matthew) of Waynesville; 10 grandchildren, Conrad Newton, Asher Newton, George Edward Strayer, IV, Jolene Strayer, Wally Strayer, Ansel Strayer, Sheyann Anderson, Austin, Russell and Robbie; a sister and brother-in-law, Theresa Decker (Phil) of Waynesville; and also several nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.

Visitation will be held Saturday (June 21, 2025) from 9:30am till 10am at Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta.

A memorial service will be held Saturday (June 21, 2025) at 10AM at the chapel of Frye Funeral Home.
