Gene Collins Rouse

Nahunta – Gene Collins Rouse, 70, of Nahunta passed away Tuesday evening (April 28, 2020) at his residence after an extended illness.

Born in Richmond, VA his parents were Stanley Earl Rouse and Ida Mary Martin Rouse. He is also preceded in death by his son, Frank Rouse; and several brothers and sisters.

Gene was an author and of the Baptist faith. Writing was his passion and he also enjoyed reading.

Survivors include his wife, Hazel Rouse of Nahunta; 2 daughters, Shelley Overacre of Powhatan, VA and Angel Wolfe of Buffalo, NY; a son, Adam Casgar of Brunswick; 3 grandchildren, Nikki Overacre, Dallas Overacre and Cooper Casgar; his brother, Stanley Rouse of VA; a niece, Wendy Smith of Blackshear; and also several other relatives.

Due to the COVID-19, we would like to ask all to please follow the rules for social distancing and face mask are highly recommended at the service. Also, anyone who does not feel comfortable with attending the services the family would like for you to know they understand and covet your prayers.

A memorial service will be held Wednesday (January 20, 2021) at 11am a the chapel of Frye Funeral Home with Rev. Jake Baum officiating.
