Freida Altman Renegar

Jacksonville - Freida Altman Renegar, 87, of Jacksonville passed away Tuesday morning (November 2, 2021) in Jacksonville, FL after an extended illness.
Born in Brantley County, GA her parents were Nolan Syvester Altman and Fronnie Griffin Altman. She is also preceded in death by 5 brothers, Roy Altman, J.W. Altman, Britton Altman, Noah Altman, and Syvester Altman; and 3 sisters, Mildred Ward, Minnie Lee Brigman and Nellie Burst.
Freida was the owner of Freida’s Restaurant and a member of Spring Hill Baptist Church. She loved sewing, quilting and crocheting.
Survivors include 2 sons and a daughter-in-law, Virgil Dowling (Janice) of Hoboken and Marvin Dowling of Orlando, FL; 2 daughters, Christine Singley and Debra Renegar both of Jacksonville; 10 grandchildren; several great grandchildren; a sister, Marie Kiper of Hoboken; and also several nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.
A graveside side service will be held Friday morning (November 5, 2021) at 10:30am at Hoboken Cemetery with Rev. Butch Hickox officiating.
Due to COVID-19, we ask all to please follow the rules for social distancing, also face mask are highly recommended at the service. Anyone who does not feel comfortable with attending the service the family would like you to know they understand and covet your prayers.
