Nahunta – Estelle Latrelle Herrin, 79, of Nahunta , passed away Friday (October 13, 2023) at Southeast Ga. Health Systems in Brunswick, GA.
Born in Nahunta, GA. her parents were Oscar Garland Lyons and Estelle Harrelson Lyons. She is also preceded in death by a great grandchild, Koe Kirby; a brother, Troy Willis.
Latrelle was a member of Southside Baptist Church. She loved violets, working in her yards and cooking with the team at Southside Baptist Church. She was known as the second best biscuit maker next only to her mama, Estelle Lyons. She had a great love for her family and friends. Latrelle was the administrator of the prayer chain at Southside Baptist Church for several years. She was very involved with the Brantley Co. Historical Society and was a member of the Daughter’s of Confederacy .
Survivors include her husband of 58 years, Linton Ardell Herrin of Nahunta; 2 sons and daughters-in-law, Brian Herrin (Darlene ) of Nahunta, Shannon Herrin (Pamela) of Mount Ida, AR.; a daughter and a son-in-law, Rhonda Smith (Perry) of Hortense; 8 grandchildren, Brittany Prescott, Bryant Smith, Sam Smith, Raven Havens, Thomas Rowland, Jorgia Herrin, Cayden Herrin, and Nala Herrin; 4 great-grandchildren, Ellery Prescott, Tripp Gentry, Chloe Smith, and Carley Smith; a brother, Lavon Lyons of Nahunta; a sister, Ann Strickland of Nahunta; a special friend, Alessa- Brooke; also several nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.
Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service Tuesday (October 17, 2023) at 10AM at Southside Baptist Church.
A funeral service will be held Tuesday (October 17, 2023) at 11AM at Southside Baptist Church with Bro. Phillip Cochran officiating.
Burial will follow in Oak Grove cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Terry Crews, Stacy Crews, Cleve Herrin, Jason “Jabo” Lee, Jerry Rewis, Jamie Chesser, and Jeremy Brooker.
