Ellie Edison Moody, Jr.

Hortense – Ellie Edison Moody, Jr., 73, of Hortense passed away Thursday afternoon (June 11, 2020) at Southeast Georgia Health System in Brunswick extended illness.

Born in Screven, GA his parents were Ellie Edison Moody, Sr. and Mildred Bennett Moody. He is also preceded in death by a brother, Bo Moody and a sister, Evon Winskey.

Ellie was a master plumber for Moody Plumbing and served in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War. He was of the Baptist faith and loved fishing and camping.

Survivors include his wife, Christine Moody of Hortense; a son and daughter-in-law, Ellie Edison Moody, III (Rhonda) of Hortense; step daughter, Dotty Ann Dement of Brunswick; 6 grandchildren, Allen Moody (Corey), Chelsea Moody, Brittany Loper (Derek), Octavia McCombs (Ryan), Holly Avidan and Randy Hawkins; 5 great grandchildren, Logan, Morgan, Nova, Shelby and Rona; a sister, Bonnie Bath of Statesboro; and also several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

The family will have a private memorial service at a later date.
