Elizabeth Ann Dean

Hortense- Elizabeth Ann Dewitt Dean, 70, of Hortense passed away Tuesday night (January 2, 2018) at Southeast Georgia Health System in Brunswick after an extended illness.

Born in Jacksonville, FL her parents were William Edward Dewitt and Juanita Mildred Hogan Dewitt. She is also preceded in death by a son, Jonathan Wade Dean.

Elizabeth was a homemaker and a member of Hortense Wesleyan Church. She loved knitting and doing crafts.

Survivors include her husband, Merlon R. Dean of Hortense; 2 sons, Merlon R. Dean, Jr. and William Justin Dean both of Hortense; grandson, Jonathan R. Dean; a brother and sister-in-law, William & Joan Dewitt of Nahunta; and also several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

A memorial service will be held Saturday (January 13, 2019) at 11am at Hortense Wesleyan Church with Rev. Peter Lamos.

Arrangements are with Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta.
