Elbert Charles Hand

Nahunta – Elbert Charles Hand, 60, of Nahunta passed away early Thursday morning (January 19, 2023) at Memorial Satilla Health after a brief illness.

Born in Jacksonville, FL his parents were Vernon Eugene Hand, Sr. and Edris Mae McCalligan Hand.

Elbert was a landscaper and loved landscaping. He loved his children and grandchildren, fishing and was an avid Georgia Bulldogs fan.

Survivors include his wife, Marsha Diana Hand of Nahunta; 5 sons, Christopher Hand, Joshua Hand, Stephen Hand all of Jacksonville, FL, Thomas Shifflett of PA and William Swilley of Orlando, FL; 3 daughters, Doris Shifflett of Brunswick, Diana Teahan of TX and Sabrina Swilley of Hastings, FL; 23 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; 6 brothers and sisters-in-law, Vernon Hand of Woodbine, Roger Hand, Mark Hand both of Brunswick, Edward Hand (Jennifer), Colt Hand (Christy) all of Hortense and David Hand (Constance) of Jesup; 2 sisters, Linda F. Davis of Nahunta and Julia Quicksaw of IN; and also several nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.

A celebration of life will take place Sunday (January 29, 2023) at 2PM at the Woodbine Docks.
