Edward Raymond Smith

Edward Raymond Smith, 71, of Waynesville passed away on Sunday, April 12, 2026, at his residence after an extended illness.

Born on August 2, 1954, to the late Samuel Green Smith and Mary Doris Parker Smith. He is also preceded by a sister Sandy Smith and a brother Roger Smith.

Edward was a quiet, kind man, an outstanding concrete mason and of the Baptist faith. Everyone that knew him loved him. He will be deeply missed.

Survivors include two brothers Richard Smith of Waynesville and Joseph Smith of Canton; two sisters Sarah Chapman of Mississippi and Rose Marie Smith Budnik of Brunswick; one son Raymond Wesley Smith of Brunswick and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.

A memorial service will be scheduled at a later date.
