Dorris 'Spooky' Edward Mckenzie

Dorris Edward "Spooky" McKenzie, 75 of Hortense, passed away Thursday (June 11, 2015) at Southeast Georgia Health System in Brunswick following an extended illness. Born in Baxley GA. his parents were Henry Roscoe McKenzie and Mary Magdalena Green McKenzie. He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Mack and Bobby McKenzie. He was a self-employed Carpenter, and enjoyed hunting and fishing. Survivors include two sons and a daughter-in-law, David McKenzie (Sherry), of Hortense, and Riley McKenzie, of Hortense; two daughters and sons-in-law, Angela Chesser (Gary), Beth Hogan (Matthew), of Hortense; 6 grandchildren, Gary, Phawn, Rhea, Ricky, David, & Trevor; 2 great grandchildren, Landon & Dylan McKenzie; a sister, Johnnie Ruth Wilson, of Hortense. Also several nieces, nephews, and other relatives. A Funeral Service will be held Sunday (June 14, 2015) at 2PM at Frye Funeral Home with Rev. Charles Florey officiating.
