Donald E Renshaw was born on a farm on the outskirts of the Okefenokee swamp near St. George, Georgia. His upbringing on the farm with his parents and eight siblings profoundly shaped his life.
Donald served in the U.S. Airforce, stationed in California, where he met his wife Martha at Bethany Bible College. In the early 1970’s, he founded ‘Renco Construction Company’.
Donald’s faith in Jesus led him to his roles as Song leader, Sunday school teacher, Assistant Pastor, & Youth leader, as well as serving 8 years on the Charlton County School Board. Donald enjoyed gardening, hunting, fishing and writing poems. Don & Martha’s home was a welcoming sanctuary where friends became family, & there was always room for one more.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother: Erwin Renshaw; and 4-sisters: Ida Mae Lentz, Nina Dillon, Flora Petty and Norma Renshaw.
He is survived by his wife, Martha Watterson Renshaw; loving children: Cindy (Charles) West, Craig (Phyllis) Renshaw, Tim (Carol) Renshaw, and Randy Renshaw; 3-Brothers: Arthur Renshaw, Alva (Mary Jane) Renshaw, and Earl “Peanut” (Sue) Renshaw; his Sister in-law: Lora (Dan) Pruitt; 9-Grandchildren; 17-Great Grandchildren and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews and other relatives.
