Donald Woodrow Lee, Sr., 76, of Hoboken passed away Thursday (November 27, 2025) at Hospice House Satilla in Waycross, Ga. after an extended illness.
Born in Waycross, Ga., his parents were J.C. Lee and Daisy Dowling Lee. He is also preceded in death by his wife, Marty Lee Strickland; a brother, Jerome Lee.
Donald was a retired Seargent with the Air Force. He was a purple heart recipient from wounds sustained in the Vietnam War. He was a member of Mt. Calvary Baptist Church. Donald loved riding motorcycles, working on race cars, hot rods, and fishing, but most of all he loved spending time with his family and loved his dog Reba.
Survivors include 2 sons and a daughter-in-law, Donald Lee, Jr. (Wendi) of Blackshear and Josh Lee of Hoboken; 2 grandchildren, Morgan Carter (Jackson), Wayne Lee (Gracie); 2 great grandchildren, Archie Lee and Eleanor Lee; 2 brothers and sisters-in-law, Ronald Lee (Shirley) and Darrell Lee (Kathyrn) both of Brunswick; sister, Cindy Lee of Brunswick; 2 sisters-in-law, Linda Crews and Colleen Lee; 2 brothers-in-law, Gary Altman and David Nichols; special friend, Susie Kelley; also several nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.
Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service Wednesday (December 3, 2025) from 2-3 PM.
A graveside service will be held Wednesday (December 3, 2025) at 3 PM at High Bluff Cemetery with Bro. Mike Walker officiating.
Honorary pallbearers will be Bobby Stone, Thomas Stone, Gary Altman, and Hugh Johns.
In lieu of flowers you can make a donation to the Wounded Warriors Project.
