Nahunta- Colleen Herrin Moody, 90 of Nahunta, passed away Sunday (June 22, 2025) at Bayview Nursing Home following an extended illness.
Born in Hickox, GA., her parents were James Jefferson Herrin and Stella Mae O’Quinn Herrin. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Willie Joe Moody; four brothers, James E. Herrin, J.C. Herrin, Homer Herrin, and Huland Herrin; four sisters, Velera Williams, Eula Mae Lee, Creola Woods, and Ethaleen Herrin.
Colleen worked many years as a Meat Inspector for U.S. Department of Agriculture. She was a member of New Hope Primitive Baptist Church and enjoyed going to the Senior Citizen Center, watching Fox News, loved her cats and reading.
Survivors include her sister, Clarice Herrin, of Hickox. Also several nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.
Funeral Services will be held Wednesday (June 25, 2025) at 11AM at the Chapel of Frye Funeral Home with Rev. Randy Wainright, Bro. Clark Lee, and Bro. Terry Herrin officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.
Pallbearers will be Glenn Lee, Jamie Carter, Calvin Herrin, Benito Rebollo, Anthony Depratter, Charles Sikes, Len Davis and Wade Lee.
Arrangements are with Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta.
