Clyde Clarence Rooks

Waynesville – Clyde Clarence Rooks, 75, of Waynesville passed away Tuesday afternoon (March 9, 2021) at Senior Care Center in Brunswick after an extended illness.

Born in Waynesville, GA his parents were James Rooks and Daisy Mae Taylor Rooks. He is also preceded in death by a brother; Johnnie Rooks and a sister; Ruthie Nix.

Clyde worked for Jekyll Island Golf Course as a grounds keeper and was a member of Morgan Church of God. He loved fishing, races, and spending time with his family.

Survivors include his daughter and son-in-law; Misty and William Butler of Jesup, 4 grandchildren; Nichole Miller (Chad), C.J. Rooks, Dwayne Spradley, and Christopher Milton, 2 great grandchildren; Skyler Rooks and Felictey Rooks, his brother; Frank Carter of Brunswick, his sister; Elta Mae Wilson of Waynesville, and special recognition to 2 of his nieces; Lesia Grogg of Hortense, and Shelia Gunterburg of Fort Walton, also several nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.

Due to the COVID-19, we would like to ask all to please follow the rules for social distancing and face mask, are highly recommended at the service. Also, anyone who does not feel comfortable with attending the services the family would like for you to know they understand and covet your prayers.

A graveside service will be held Friday afternoon (March 12, 2021) at 3 PM at Mt. Olive Cemetery with Rev. David Dowling officiating. Visitation will be held thirty minutes prior to the service starting at 2:30 PM.

Arrangements are with Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta.
