Waynesville – Clinton Lorene Rowell, 73, of Waynesville passed away Wednesday evening (January 1, 2020) at Candler Hospital in Savannah after an extended illness.
Born in Hortense, GA his parents were Roy Rowell and Verdie Mae Rogers Rowell. He is also preceded in death by his wife, Marie Andrews Rowell; a grandson, Ryder Rowell; and a brother, Larry Rowell.
Clinton was a heavy equipment operator for Local Union 474 and served in the United States Air Force. He was a member of Twin Rivers Missionary Baptist Church and attended King Memorial Baptist Church. Clinton loved spending time with his children and grandchildren and listening to music.
Survivors include 3 daughters and a son-in-law, Lorene Rowell of Hortense, Cynthia Rowell of Alma, and Chynna Grantham (David) of Waynesville; 10 grandchildren, Meiah Sellers, Makenzie Rowell, Madison Rowell, Jacob Rowell, Leah Royster, Britton Royster, Kayden Royster, Trenton Rowell, Marie Grantham, and David Grantham; 5 sisters and brothers-in-law, Linda Blevins (Kenny) of North Carolina, Charlotte Rocha (Tony) of Brunswick, Marba Jean Bishop (George) of Hortense, Tina Pafford (Larry) of Hortense, and Bonnie Andrews of Darien; a sister-in-law, Johnnie Faye Rowell of Patterson; and also several nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service on Sunday afternoon (January 5, 2020) starting at 1pm at Frye Funeral Home.
A funeral service will be held Sunday afternoon (January 5, 2020) at 2pm at the chapel of Frye Funeral Home with Rev. Tim Rowell and Rev. Rusty Bryan officiating.
Arrangements are with Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta.
