Charlton Emory Roberson

Hortense – Charlton Emory Roberson, 82, of Hortense passed away Thursday evening (April 26, 2018) at Landmark Hospital of Savannah after an extended illness.

Born in Screven, GA his parents were Milton Roberson and Edith McGraw Roberson. He is also preceded in death by the mother of his children, Corene Moody Roberson; a daughter, Kathy Nabb; a son, Emory Dale Roberson; and also several brothers.

Charlton was a retired supervisor at Brunswick Pulp and Paper and attended the Philadelphia Wesleyan Sawgrass Church. He enjoyed wood working, fishing, reading, and cane grinding.

Survivors include his wife, Novis Roberson of Hortense; a daughter and son-in-law, Joy & Joey Courson of Hortense; 5 grandchildren and their spouses, Randy & Maya Nabb, Billy & Angie Nabb, Josh & Alyson Roberson, DeAnna & Chad Hodges, and Dalton Courson; 6 great grandchildren, Lexi Dybe, Shaun Fu, Colleen Nabb, Corrine Nabb, Marshall Roberson, and Austin Pap; a brother, Charles Roberson of Brunswick; a sister and brother-in-law, Ruth & Bud Jones of Nahunta; and also several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

Visitation will be held Saturday evening (April 28, 2018) starting at 6PM at Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta.

A funeral service will be held Sunday afternoon (April 29, 2018) at 2PM at the chapel of Frye Funeral Home with Rev. Tim Johnson and Rev. R.C. Mathis officiating. Burial will follow in Hortense Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be his grandchildren, Randy Nabb, Billy Nabb, Josh Roberson, Dalton Courson and DeAnna Hodges.

Arrangements are with Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta.
