Charles Chesser

January 21, 1954 — June 20, 2020

Hoboken – Mr. Charles William Chesser, 66, of Hoboken passed away Saturday afternoon (June 20, 2020) at Memorial Satilla Heath in Waycross following an extended illness.

Born in Waycross, Ga. his parents were John Sherrod Chesser and Lillie Mae Moore Chesser. He is also preceded in death by 2 sons, Michael White and Billy Bland, a brother, Harry Chesser.

Charles retired from the OREMC as a Pole Truck Operator and enjoyed scratching lottery tickets, fishing, farming, raising his kids, and riding 4 wheelers with his grandchildren.

Survivors include his wife of 35 years, Deborah White Chesser of Hoboken; a daughter Christy Chesser (Michael Drury) of Brunswick; 8 grandchildren, Casey Peacock, Brooke & Lexie White, Tracy & Becky Slaughter, Kylee Moore, Lauren Moore, and Remington Chesser Jordan; several great grandchildren; 3 brothers and sister-in-law, Johnny Chesser (Wilma) of Hoboken, David Chesser and Richard Chesser both of Nahunta; 3 sisters and brother-in-law, Hazel Farrill of Hoboken, Melissia Howe of Brunswick, and Ruby Moody (Jerry) of Hortense; and also several nieces, nephews, and other relatives and a host of friends.

Due to the COVID-19, the family would like to ask all to please follow the rules for social distancing at the service. Also, anyone who does not feel comfortable with attending the service the Family would like for you to know they understand and covet your prayers.

A graveside service will be held Wednesday afternoon (June 24, 2020) at 12PM at Oak Grove Cemetery with Rev. Bruce Dean and Rev. Phillip Rowell officiating.

Pallbearers will be Larry Griffin, Chris Crews, Ken Clark, Shane Moore, Jimmie Anderson, Scott Studstill, Byron Smith, and Tony Rhoden.

Honorary pallbearers will be the OREMC Employees.

Arrangements are with Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta.
