Waynesville-Charlanne Dana Turlington, 60, of Waynesville passed away on Monday, July 13, 2026, at Southeast Georgia Health Systems in Brunswick after an extended illness.

Born in Nahunta, Ga. to the late Charles Stokes and Sarah Ann Gibson. She is also preceded in death by her grandparents Fred and Mary Lou Gibson and her Aunt Freddye Louise Gibson.

Charlanne was one of those people you didn’t forget. She was headstrong, hardworking, and full of personality. If she had her mind made up, there wasn’t much changing it—but the people who knew her best also knew how caring and generous she was. She had a way of making people feel welcome, and there was always room for one more around her table.

She worked as a cosmetologist for many years and took pride in everything she did. Whether she was working, cooking a meal, making flower arrangements, she believed in doing things right.

Charlanne loved spending time on the river, or at the beach soaking up the sun and enjoying the simple things. She was a loyal Georgia Bulldogs fan, loved finding a good bargain, and always managed to find the prettiest things, she never passed up a chance to decorate for Halloween or spoil her family at Christmas while making the best pumpkin rolls! She loved her little dogs, keeping a tidy home, and always loved looking her best.

More than anything, Charlanne loved her family. She was proud of her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren and was happiest when everyone was together.

Charlanne loved her family in her own way, worked hard, laughed often, and left behind memories that will be cherished forever. Those who knew her will remember her for her strength, her spunky personality, her big heart, and the countless little things that made her who she was.

She will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and forever a part of the stories we’ll continue to tell.

Survivors include her children Sarah Bagley, Jacob Carver (Michel) and Jordan Carver; grandchildren Harmoni Wentworth (Jordan), Eli Bagley (Naomi), Seth Goss, Hanes Carver and Sawyer Bailey; great grandchildren Cason Bagley, Elijah Bagley, Jr. and Marianna Wentworth; brothers Chuck Stokes and Frank Stokes; Great Uncle Tom Gibson; numerous other relatives and a host of friends.

Visitation will be held Friday, July 17, 2026, at 10:00 am at Frye Funeral Home.
