Hortense – Carlton Joe “C.J.” Corbett, 62, of Hortense passed away suddenly Wednesday morning (October 25, 2023) at his residence.

Born in Palatka, FL his parents were Paul Albert Corbett and Mary Sweeney Peacock. He is also preceded in death by his brother, Alton “Spud” Corbett.

C.J. was the owner of Xtreme RV and was of the Baptist faith. He loved spending time with his grandbabies and helping people.  C.J.’s passion was working on RVs and his motto was “Keeping you Camping” but he also was an outdoor enthusiast who enjoyed hiking and riding motor cycles.  

Survivors include his daughter, Brittany Corbett (Donnie O’Neal) of Hortense; 3 grandchildren, Kayson O’Neal, Jupiter O’Neal and Maverick O’Neal all of Hortense; his sister and brother-in-law, Connie Taylor (Ricky) of Folkston; 3 nieces, Allison Corbett (Jake) of Austin, TX, Candice Mintier (Gary) of Gainesville, GA and Samantha Mathison (Wade) of Folkston; a nephew, Buck Taylor (Liza) of Folkston; and also several other relatives and a host of friends.

Visitation will be held Sunday afternoon (October 29, 2023) from 4pm -6pm at Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta.

A memorial service will be held at a later date in Tennessee.

Arrangements are with Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta.
