Bobby Gene Rentz

Hortense- Bobby Gene Rentz, 85 of Hortense, passed away Wednesday (March 2, 2022) at Sears Coastal Nursing Home in Brunswick, following an extended illness.
Born in Baxley, GA., his parents were Henry Rentz and Susie Mae Beecher. He was also preceded in death by 6 brothers, Henry, Talmadge, James, Eloid, Curtis, and Cecil Rentz; a sister, Angie Rentz Quinn; and his stepmother, Naomi Rentz.
Bobby worked for many years as a mechanic for Hertz and was a member of King Memorial Baptist Church. He enjoyed building cars, spending time with family, camping, singing, and going to Church.
Survivors include his wife, Nancy Strickland Rentz, of Hortense; son and daughter-in-law, Gene Rentz (Michael Ann), of Pooler, GA.; a daughter, Bobbie Jean Rentz, of Hortense; 4 grandchildren, Tiffany Wilson (Steve), Stephanie Lawson (Kyle), Ethan Rentz (Hannah), and Cassandra Rentz; 2 great grandchildren, Asa Crisco and Chloe Crisco; three sisters, Montine Burkett, of Tampa, FL., Maxine Williams, of Hazlehurst, GA., and Betty Mcloon, of Tampa, FL. Also several nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.
Visitation will be held Friday (March 4, 2022) from 6PM-8PM at Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta.
Funeral Services will be held Saturday (March 5, 2022) at 2PM at Frye Funeral Home with Rev. Mike Yawn officiating.
Burial will follow in Mt. Olive Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Robert Strickland, Sam Strickland, Toby Strickland, Claude Edgy, Marshall Edgy, and Jimmy Rentz.
Honorary Pallbearers will be David and Debbie Sirmans and David Benjamin.
Arrangements are with Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta.
