Billy Joe Kight

Billy Joe Kight, 77 of Hortense, passed away Thursday (December 17, 2015) following an extended illness.

Born in Douglas, GA. on January 10, 1938, his parents were Cecil Kight and Eva Fountain Kight. He was also preceded in death by a daughter, Eva “Koko” Kight Hunter.

Billy was retired from International Auto Processing, where he worked for twelve years. He graduated from Emory University in 1960 with a degree in Geology. He was also a pilot for Georgia Forestry Commission in the early 1960’s.

Survivors include his loving companion of 31 years, Dianne Newell, of Hortense; her son and daughter-in-law, Bruce Newell (Rhonda), of Broxton; and a cousin, Francis Fountain (Mary), of Douglas. Also many other relatives and friends.

A memorial service will be held Sunday (January 10, 2016) at 2PM at Frye Funeral Home with Bro. Stephen Jenkins and Bro. James Lightsey officiating.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Hospice of the Golden Isles at 1692 Glynco Parkway Brunswick, GA 31525.
