Nahunta-Betty Gay Jean Morgan, 89, of Nahunta passed away Sunday (August 16, 2020) at Baptist Village in Waycross following an extended illness.

Born in Springdale, GA., her parents were Dewey Lee Gay and Elma Gill Swain. She is also preceded in death by 2 brothers, Elmer Gay and Edward Gay; a sister, Mildred Gay.

She was a member of Church of God in Waynesville. She loved reading, crossword puzzles, and going to the island.

She is survived her husband of 70 years, Gerald Morgan of Nahunta; 2 sons and daughters-in-law, Jerry Morgan (Lee) of Warner Robins, Steve Morgan (Jill) of Lizella, GA.; 5 daughters and sons-in-law, Janie McDade (Tom) of Milledgeville, GA., Toni Morgan of Oklahoma City, OK., Gay Gilbert of Byron, GA., Nicole Gibson (Bruce) of Lake City, FL., and Chrystal Morgan of Macon, GA.; 11 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren, and 6 great great grandchildren. Also several nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.

Due to the COVID-19, the family would like to ask all to please follow the rules of social distancing and face mask are recommended at the service. Also, anyone who does not feel comfortable with attending the service, the family would like for you to know they understand and covet your prayers.

The family will be receiving friends at the residence 125 Turkey Ridge Nahunta, GA. 31553

A service will be held Wednesday morning (August 19, 2020) at 11AM at Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta. with Bishop David Dowling officiating.

Burial will follow in Smyrna Cemetery.

Arrangements are with Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta.
