Bessie "Charlene" Griffin

Hoboken – Bessie “Charlene” Crawford Griffin, 73, of Hoboken passed away Tuesday evening (November 30, 2021) at Memorial Satilla Health in Waycross after an extended illness.
Born in Waycross, GA her parents were Charlie Tobe Crawford and Mary Lucille Beverly Crawford. She is also preceded in death by 2 sisters, Bonnie Crews and Virue Rewis and a brother, Buddy Smith.
Charlene was a homemaker and a member of Mt. Calvary Baptist Church. She loved Christmas time, cooking and spending time with her family. Charlene also enjoyed sitting on her front porch, shopping, singing, reading and watching game shows.
Survivors include her husband of 54yrs, Johnny Griffin of Hoboken; 3 daughters and sons-in-law, Paula Sweat (Leo) of Nahunta, Pamela Lee (Chris) of Waycross and Sarah Knox (Ben) of Hoboken; 9 grandchildren, Shane Wilson, Karleigh Sweat, Miranda Bowen, Holli Sweat, Ethan Knox, Johnna Knox, M’Kenzie Knox, Raegan Knox, and Ashlee Rodriguez (Kevin); 12 great grandchildren, Jett Wilson, Eli Watkins, Anna Jade Watkins, Brayden Sweat, Maddy Bowen, Ally Bowen, Sawyer Bowen, Landon Mullis, Hunter, Hayden, Hudson, and Tucker Rodriguez; a sister and brother-in-law, Jessolene Morgan (Johnny) of Waycross; and also several nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.
Visitation will be held Friday evening (December 3, 2021) from 6pm – 8pm at Mt. Calvary Baptist Church.
A funeral service will be held Saturday morning (December 4, 2021) at 11am at Mt. Calvary Baptist Church with Rev. Randall Gunter, Rev. Jerry Chancey and Rev. James Conner officiating. Burial will follow in High Bluff Cemetery.
