Bernese King

Nahunta – Bernese Howard King, 85, of Nahunta passed Wednesday morning (February 12, 2020) at Bayview Nursing Home after an extended illness.

Born in Crescent City, FL her parents were Bill Riley Howard and Clara Bell Burney. She is also preceded in death by her father who raised her, J.S. Love; 2 sons, Wallace Edgar King, Jr. and James Curly King; 2 brothers, John W. Love and Bailey Love; and a sister, Margie Anderson.

Bernese was a cashier for Walmart for many years and attended Hickox Baptist Church. She loved her grandchildren, fishing and cats.

Survivors include her 2 daughters, Brenda Davis of Nahunta and Shirley Fogarty of Waynesville; a daughter-in-law, Cathy of Atkinson; 6 grandchildren, Erica Davis, William Penson, Sarah, Douglas Watson, Patricia Watson, and Autumn Watson; 12 great grandchildren; 3 great great grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Joyce Cater of FL; and also several nieces, nephews and other relatives.

A memorial service will be held Saturday morning (February 15, 2020) at 11am at Hickox Baptist Church with Rev. Jamie Giddens officiating.

The family will be receiving friends at 43 Dude Cir. Nahunta, GA 31553.
