Bennie Aaron Jacobs

January 25, 1948 — February 8, 2022

Hoboken- Bennie Aaron Jacobs, 74, of Hoboken, died Tuesday morning (February 8, 2022) at Memorial Hospital Jacksonville, FL. He was born at home on his family's farm in Hoboken, GA. He was preceded in death by his parents Calvin Eugene Jacobs and Emily Robbins Jacobs, his beloved twin brothers; Ray E. Jacobs, Rev. Roy Calvin Jacobs and beloved sister, Carolyn Virginia Jacobs.
He graduated from Hoboken High School in 1965 and joined the US Marines while in his senior year and time served began immediately. He reported to Parris Island SC to begin basic training after High school graduation. Bennie served in the US Marines from 1965 – 1969, ranking as an E6, he was a Combat Engineer and served 13 months in Vietnam. He learned his trade of building while there. After his discharge he worked for Monsanto Company in Aurora, Indiana for seven years. He sold his home there and came back home to GA.
He worked with Cordell Wainwright as deputy sheriff of Brantley County for a number of years. He worked for the Railroad shops a number of years and for The B & W Company Brunswick GA for a few years. He worked in the supervision of Varn Wood Products in Hoboken GA for a few years. He then decided to go into business doing what he loved. He became a self-employed building contractor and was a very talented builder and did that up until recently when he became sick.
He loved doing scratch off tickets down at Griffins Store. He loved riding his golf cart in the neighborhood and visiting friends and family. He was happiest when Ayden came to spend the weekend.
He is survived by his two sons, Jacob Aaron Jacobs of Waycross, GA and Leslie Scott Hughes of Cincinnati Ohio, two grandsons: Ayden Aaron Jacobs of Harriets Bluff, GA, Louis Scott Hughes of Cincinnati Ohio., stepson: Justin Hughes (Pam), their daughters; Callie and Kelsey; stepdaughters; Tina Rich (Bryan) their son Miles and Julie Lajter (Joe) their sons, Lochlan and Sebastian. Two brothers, Gene Jacobs of Jacksonville, FL, Dr. H. Alec Jacobs (Lisa) of Hoboken, GA and one sister, Char J. Griffin of Waycross GA; Seven nieces, eight nephews and numerous cousins.
Visitation will be held Friday evening (February 11, 2022) from 6PM-8PM at Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta.
Graveside Services will be held Saturday (February 12, 2022) at 11AM at Hoboken City Cemetery with Rev. Tony Barber officiating.
Arrangements are with Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta.
