Arthur 'Art' Keene

Nahunta – Arthur “Art” Keene, Jr., 61, of Nahunta passed away Saturday morning (April 11, 2020) at his residence after an extended illness.

Born in Waycross, GA his parents were Arthur Keen, Sr. and Gaynell Highsmith Keene. He is also preceded in death by his infant brother, Alton Keene

Art was a millwright for Georgia Pacific and was of the Christian faith. He was a great father who always put his family before himself and would help anyone in need. Art loved his grandkids, spending time with his family and enjoyed working.

Survivors include his son and daughter-in-law, Trey & Amanda Keene of Raybon; a daughter and son-in-law, Tabbitha & Jason Nowling of Raybon; 8 grandchildren, Allen Edholm, Sierra Edholm, Jesalyn Keene, Aullie Keene, Mason Edholm, Joanna Keene, Lincoln Nowling and Lawson Nowling; 2 sisters, Ann Keene and Angela Keene both of Waynesville; and also several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

Due to COVID-19, the family will be having a private graveside service Monday (April 13, 2020) at Keene Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family request donations to be sent to the Gap House Ministries, 18629 Hwy 82 Nahunta, GA 31553.

Arrangements are with Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta.
