Nahunta – Anthony “Tony” Clayton “Chainsaw” Palmer, 72, of Nahunta passed away Saturday morning (September 5, 2026) at his residence after an extended illness.
Born in Brunswick, GA his parents were Lonnie Clayton Palmer and Reba Faye Brockington Palmer. He is also preceded in death by his wife, Tami Jean Tootle Palmer; a daughter, Melissa Jo Palmer; 2 sons, Stephen Wesley Landon and Charles Allen Miller; a granddaughter, Haley Elaine Miller; and a sister, Donna Faye Lambert.
Tony was a truckdriver who enjoyed riding motorcycles, hunting, and fishing. He loved raising rabbits and chickens, gardening and canning.
Survivors include his daughter and son-in-law, Jessica Walker (Josh) of Nahunta; 6 grandchildren, Fischer, Jaden, Palmer, Bonnie, Wesley and Charleigh; 2 sisters, Debbie Dixon and Joy Conaway both of Brunswick; 2 sisters-in-law, Jan McCollum of South Carolina and Karen Head of Jesup; and also several nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends
A memorial service will be held Saturday, (September 12, 2026) at 4pm at Lulaton Baptist Church with Pastor Steve Beal officiating.
Arrangements are with Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta.
