Aaron Neal Griffin

February 4, 1982 — March 24, 2021

Aaron Neal Griffin, age 39, entered the gates of heaven on March 24, 2021 at UF Shands Hospital in Jacksonville, Fla, after a brief illness.

Aaron was born on February 4th, 1982 in Waycross, Georgia to Larry Neal and Paulette Morgan Griffin. He graduated from Brantley County High School in 2000 and went on to complete a railroad technician certificate from Okefenokee Technical School.

Aaron was employed with CSX Railroad Transportation in Waycross Georgia as a machinist. He is the owner and operator of AG Cattle Company of Folkston, Georgia. He served as Vice President of the Southeast Cattlemen’s Association.

Aaron was a devoted and loving father to his son Ben as well as a loving and supportive son to his parents. Aaron was a beloved brother and a dedicated uncle. To many he became a second son or an unrelated uncle. He never hesitated to lend a hand and was alway willing to give advice.

Above all, Aaron had a strong faith and belief in God. He was washed by the blood of Jesus and baptized in the christain faith on October 11, 1998 at Winokur Baptist Church. Aaron continued his walk with Christ by attending Sand Hill Baptist Church in Folkston.

At heart, Aaron was a true American cowboy. Riding horses, tending cows, hog hunting, and farming was his way of life. Aaron passed on his love of rodeo to his son Ben. Their weekends were spent at rodeos where Ben rode as a member of the Eastcoast Rodeo Association.



Aaron is survived by his son Ben Griffin (Ben’s mother Shannon Dixon Griffin and brother Carter Johnson), his parents Larry & Paulette Griffin of Hoboken, Grandmothers: Joyce Herrington Griffin of Hoboken and Lou Robinson Morgan of Folkston, brothers and sister: Eustace (Ginger) Griffin of Mershon, Sabrina (Wyatt) Hutcheson and Jeremy ( Kerry Beth) Griffin all of Nahunta. Nieces and Nephews: Joelee Griffin, Karis Griffin, Mason Crawford, Eli Crawford, Kaleb Crawford, Ruger Hutcheson, Kayden Beasley, Kymber Beasley, Morgan Griffin and Zane Griffin. Uncles: Jerome (Shelia) Griffin, Billy Griffin, John Griffin, Paul Griffin and special Great Uncle Wayne Griffin all of Hoboken. Aunts: Patsy (Bill) Allen of Folkston, Hazel (Gary) Wood of Red Springs, NC and Rebekah (Jason) Rifenbark of Folkston. Numerous cousins as well as a multitude of friends.

He was preceded in death by his infant child Dixon Griffin. Paternal grandparents: Ruby McNatt Griffin and Maurice Griffin of Hoboken. Maternal grandfather Wesley Morgan of Folkston

Family and friends are invited to attend the visitation services on Monday March 29th from 6-9pm and funeral services Tuesday March 30th at 10am both at Mt.Calvary Baptist Church in Hoboken. Burial will be in Mt. Calvary Baptist Church Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Eustace Griffin, Jeremy Griffin, Rudy Crews, Stephen Crews, Tim Birchall, Kelvin Thornton, Mike Weber, & Danny Jack Willis. Honorary pallbearers will be Wayne Griffin, Billy Griffin, Steve McQueen, Merle Willis, Mark Thrift, Jamie Lynn, members of the Southeast Cattlemen’s Association and co-workers at CSX.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Georgia Cattlemen’s Association.

Arrangements are with Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta.
