Hortense - Troy Windel Willis, 69, died Sunday evening, ( July 3, 2011) at Satilla Hospice in Waycross after an extended illness. Born in Raybon, Georgia, he was the son of the late Oscar Lyons and Verdie "Willis" Lyons, of Raybon. He is also preceded in death by his brother, William Anderson, and sister, Ann Green. He worked as a Boiler Maker for B & W and enjoyed fishing, gardening, and telling jokes. He also was a Member of the Atkinson Church of God of Prophesy. Survived by a Son and Daughter-in-law; Troy Windel and Ellen Willis II , of Waynesville; a Daughter; Kimberly Stone, of Waynesville; a Granddaughter; Shannon Jones, of Brunswick; 2 Sisters and a Brother-in-law; Latrell and Linton Herrin, of Nahunta, and Ann Strickland, of Hortense; a Brother; Lavon Lyons, of Raybon; 2 Step Daughters; Cheryl and Bobby Carver, of Waycross; and Carol Cothern, of Blackshear; 5 Step Grandchildren; 5 Step Great Grandchildren; and a Special Friend; Olive Griffin, of Blackshear; also several nieces, nephews and other relatives. A memorial service will be held Wednesday morning (July 6, 2011) at Frye Funeral Home Chapel at 11:00 A.M. with Rev. Raymond Willis officiating. Visitation will be held 1 hour prior to service. Memorialization will be by cremation. Arrangements are with Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta. Sympathy may be expressed by signing the online registry at www.fryefh.com.
