Maryann Barber Shepard, 70 of Hortense, was called to her eternal home Monday (November 30, 2015), surrounded by her family and close friends.
Born in Moultrie, GA. Her parents were Allen Barber and Susie Pattishall. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Robert Earl Shepard; two sons, Ronnie Jerome Turner and Robin Darrell Turner.
Maryann was a member of Atkinson Church of God of Prophecy. She enjoyed the outdoors, working in the yard, gardening, and fishing. She was a devoted wife and mother who loved her family and friends dearly.
Survivors include her son, Raymond E. Turner, of Atkinson; her daughter and son-in-law, Yvonne Gibson (Bruce), of Nahunta; 2 step-daughters, Pamela S. Ewing (Rick) and Irene S. Putman, of Jacksonville, FL; and step-son, Robert Earl Shepard, Jr., of St. Augustine, FL.; 7 grandchildren, Raymond D. Turner (Kasondra), of Charleston, SC; Jessica Herrin (Chad), of Hoboken; Brandon Turner (Alison), of Decatur; Chase Turner (Robin) of Hortense; Crystal Bates (H.B.), of Hoboken, Justin Gibson (Amber), of Woodstock, GA., and Sandy Phillips (G.W.), of Lawrenceville; 4 step-grandchildren, Lisa Marie Shepard and Bradley Hildreth (Jaime), of Jacksonville, FL; Kacie Lynn Putman, of Bellevue, FL; and Travis Shepard, of Gainesville, FL.; 5 great-grandchildren, Hayes Bates, Cash Bates, Mia Kate Bates, Eli Stine, and Jackson Gibson; and 4 step great-grandchildren, Alexis Shepard, D' Andre Cherry, Elijah Hildreth, and Ethan Hildreth; an aunt, Bennie “Coot” Pattishall; a special cousin, Claudette Dworak; a special friend, Linda Thornton, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Visitation will be held Thursday (December 3, 2015) from 6PM-8PM at Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta.
A Funeral Service will be held Friday (December 4, 2015) at 2PM at Frye Funeral Home with Bishop Raymond Willis officiating.
Pallbearers will be her son, Robert E. Shepard, Jr., and grandsons, Raymond D. Turner, Chad Herrin, Chase Turner, Johnathon “H. B.” Bates, and Glen Wesley “G. W.” Phillips, III.
Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. Moran and Staff at Southeast Georgia Physicians Association of Hematology/Oncology and the staff of Heartland Hospice. Burial will follow in Hortense Cemetery.
Arrangements are with Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta.
