Lois Elizabeth Hickox Crews, 84 of Trudie, passed away early Monday morning (December 2, 2013) at her residence following an extended illness. Born in Hickox, GA. her parents were Frank and Hattie Ammons Hickox. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Oliver "Obie" Crews; a son, Ronnie Oliver Crews; several sisters; and a brother, J.D. Hickox. Lois was a member of Philadelphia Wesleyan Church. She worked many years as a cook for Nahunta Elementary School, she enjoyed gardening, and loved her family and grandkids. Survivors include 4 sons and daughters-in-law, Mikel Crews (Gail), of Folkston, Davy Crews, of Twin Rivers, William Crews (Tammy), of Leesburg, GA, Thomas Crews (Lynn), of Waynsboro; 2 daughters and a son-in-law, Donna Drury, of Twin Rivers, and Beth Nichols (Hermon), of Twin Rivers; 10 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren; 2 sisters, Idell Herrin, of Jesup, and Mary Lou Flynn, of FL. Also several nieces, nephews, and other relatives. A visitation will be held Wednesday evening (December 4, 2013) at 6PM, at Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta. A funeral service will be held Thursday morning (December 5, 2013) at 11AM at Frye Funeral Home with Rev. Ron Staymen and Pastor Chad Crews officiating. Burial will follow in New Hope Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Gary Knox, Chad Crews, Clay Crews, Frankie Crews, Eric Crews, and Austin Crews. Honorary pallbearers will be her great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. Arrangements are with Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta. Sympathy may be expressed by signing our online registry at fryefh.com.
