Kathleen N. Woods

Waynesville-Kathleen Neely Woods, 67 of Waynesville, passed away early Thursday morning (January 24, 2013) at her residence following an extended illness. Born in Statesboro, her parents were Roy and Johnnie McMickens Neely. She is also preceded in death by 3 brothers, Ronald, Leroy, and Danny Neely. Kathleen worked many years as the Owner of Woods Hardware Store, she loved gardening and flowers, she also enjoyed fishing, baking cakes, painting pictures, and playing with her grandchildren when they were little. Survivors include her husband of 50 years, Bennie Woods, of Waynesville; a daughter and son-in-law, Tammy and Earl Beckham, of Waynesville; 2 grandchildren and their spouses, Carla and Andrew McGarrity, David and Melissa Beckham, both of Waynesville; 3 great grandchildren, Anslee McGarrity, Emma Beckham, and Lila Beckham; and 2 sisters and brothers-in-law, Bonnie and Carl Burnsed, of Newington, GA, and Susan and Don Burnsed, of NC. Also several nieces, nephews, and other relatives. Visitation will be held Friday evening (January 25, 2013) from 6-8 PM at Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta. A Funeral Service will be held Saturday afternoon (January 26, 2013) at 2 PM at Frye Funeral Home with Rev. Michael Batten officiating. Pallbearers will be Allen Colson, James Colson, Gary Colson, William Shuman, Carl Burnsed, Kelly Gibson, Andrew McGarrity, Sam McGarrity, and Tommy Neely. Burial will follow in Woods Cemetery, Waynesville. Arrangements are with Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta. Sympathy may be expressed by signing our online registry at fryefh.com.
