James Calvin Proctor

Waynesville-James Calvin "J.C." Proctor, 80, of Waynesville died Friday night (December 14, 2012) at the Hospice of the Golden Isles after an extended illness. Born in Waynesville, GA his parents were Joshua Elwood & Isabell Dixon Proctor. He is also preceded in death by his wife, Irene Cramer Proctor; son, Darwin Earl Proctor; 2 brothers, Ernest Elwood Proctor and W.A. Proctor and a sister, Muriel Jean Spikes. J.C. was a retired supervisor for Glynn Co. Public Works department and a member of Waynesville Baptist Church. He loved his dog Mr. Bentley, doing yard work and gardening. Survivors include 7 children and their spouses, James M. & Jennifer Proctor of Orlando, FL, Richard L. Proctor of Camden, CO, Robin Kim Proctor of Fr. Lauderdale, FL, Lamar Lewis of Brunswick, Charles Griffis of St. Simons, Franklin Griffis of Brunswick and Linda & Jackie Holcomb of Waynesboro, GA; 15 grandchildren; and multiple great and great great grandchildren; brother, Mickey Proctor of TN; a sister, Shirley Sapp of Brunswick; and also several nieces, nephews and other relatives. Visitation will be held Wednesday morning (December 19, 2012) from 10-11AM at Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta. A funeral service will be held Wednesday morning (December 19, 2012) at 11AM at the Chapel of Frye Funeral with Rev. Mike Yawn, Rev. Ricky Knox & Rev. Joe Carr officiating. Burial will follow at Highsmith Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Major Strickland, Chuck Dixon, Virgil Dowling, Robert Manning, Jack Bailey and Mike Shula . Honorary pallbearers will be Senior Citizens of King Memorial Baptist Church. Arrangements are with Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta.
