Irvin Morgan

Nahunta – Irvin Morgan, 94, of Nahunta passed away Tuesday afternoon (August 29, 2017) at Bayview Nursing Home after an extended illness.

Born in Cairo, GA his parents were Homer Alexander and Janie Gordy Morgan. He is also preceded in death by 2 sisters.

Irvin was the district sales manager for Ford Motor Company tractor division for many years before retiring and served in the United States Navy during WWII where he was a recipient of the Purple Heart. He is also a member of Southside Baptist Church and loved fishing and working in the yards.

Survivors include his wife of 67 years, Marian H. Morgan of Nahunta; a son and daughter-in-law, Thomas Irvin Morgan (Dianne) of Montana and Flordia; a daughter and son-in-law, Monica Morgan Seeger (Ken) of Charleston, SC; 4 grandchildren and their spouses, Ashley Morris (Michael Morris) of Atlanta, GA, Beth Anne Lazaro (Ralph Lazaro) of Cleveland, OH, Courtland Morgan Seeger (Rachel Mills Seeger) of Stamford, CT, and Katharine Trubee Seeger (Ian Wilson Muir) of San Francisco; 6 great grandchildren; and also several nieces, nephews, other relatives, and a host of friends.

Visitation will be held Thursday morning (August 31, 2017) from 10:30am-11:00am at Southside Baptist Church.

A funeral service will be held Thursday morning (August 31, 2017) at 11am at Southside Baptist Church with Rev. Jerry Johns officiating.

Burial will follow in New Hope Cemetery.

Family and pallbearers are asked to be at the church by 10:30am Thursday.

Arrangements are with Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta.
