Harry Jackson Knox

Jesup – Harry Jackson Knox “Jackie”, 74, of Jesup passed away early Wednesday morning (May 22, 2019) at Harborview Health Care in Jesup after an extended illness.

Born in Nahunta, GA his parents were Harry Willie Knox and Lois June Harris Knox. He is also preceded in death by his sister, Betty Jo Davis.

Jackie was a farmer and a mechanic and was a member of Consolation Baptist Church for the last 19 years. He also helped design Lulaton Baptist Church where he attended for 20 years. Jackie loved hunting, fishing, woodworking, baking, and quilting in his spare time. He loved his family, the Lord, and going on mission trips.

Survivors include his son, Steve Knox of Nahunta; 2 daughters and sons-in-law, Gail & Kenny Bauer of Hortense and Glenda & Joe Lewis of Summerville, SC; 2 grandchildren, Bryan Knox Bauer of Social Circle, GA and Caitlyn Lewis of Summerville; SC; 3 great grandchildren, Cameron Wainright, Kaytee Bauer, and Knox Bauer; a brother and sister-in-law, G.W. & Ivene Knox of Nahunta; a sister and brother-in-law, Ione & Lamar Little of Soperton, GA; his special life partner and mother of his children, Shirley Knox and also several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service Sunday (May 26, 2019) from 2pm – 3pm at Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta.

A memorial service will be held Sunday afternoon (May 26, 2019) at 3PM at the chapel of Frye Funeral Home with Rev. Wayne Manning, Jr. officiating.

Arrangements are with Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta.
