Florrie Altimira Johns Crews, 86, of Nahunta died early Thursday morning (January 21, 2010) at Bayview Nursing Home after an extended illness. Born in Hickox, GA her parents were Morton Mallard and Icy Jane Jones Johns. She is also preceded in death by her husband Archie Crews. Mrs. Florrie worked in the Brantley County School system as a lunchroom lady for many years and was very helpful in health care transportation. She was a member of Hickox Baptist Church were she was very active in her Sunday School class until her health started to decline. Also she loved quilting, gardening, canning and was a great cook. Mrs. Florrie loved her family and church family and was a great joy to her children , grandchildren and great great grandchildren. She is survived by four children and two daughters-in-law, Johnnie Crews, Eugene and Judy Crews both of Hickox, Jerry R. and Karen Crews of Auburn, AL and Shirley C. Herrin of Hickox; 10 grandchildren and their spouses, Jackie and Byron Smith, Tony and Tracy Crews, Jeanna and Mickey Weldon, Jeremy Crews, Josh and Stephie Crews, Justin Crews, Ronda Herrin Buffy Herrin, Randy and Terri Herrin and Jerald Herrin; 14 great grandchildren, Jill Smith, Aubrey Smith, Logan Smith, Alli Crews, Maggie Crews, Anna Weldon, Macy Weldon, Sierra Ingram, Kelsey Ingram, Bailey Herrin, Elizabeth Anderson, Chanhassen Crews, Gage Herrin, Danslee Herrin; 3 great great grandchildren, Luke Hall, Mailey Smith and Bryson Smith; also several nieces, nephews and other relatives. Visitation will be held Saturday evening (January 23, 2010) starting at 6PM-9PM at Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta. Funeral services will be held Sunday afternoon (January 24, 2010) starting at 2pm at Hickox Baptist Church with Rev. E. C. Crews and Rev. Ray McMillan officiating. Entombment will follow in Bethlehem Cemetery in Hickox. Active pallbearers will be Jeremy Crews, Tony Crews, Randy Herrin,Justin Crews, Aubrey Smith and Logan Smith. Honorary pallbearers will be the staff of Bayview Nursing Home. Sympathy may be expressed by signing the online register at fryefh.com.
