Eric Hoke Martin

Macon-Eric Hoke Martin,40, of Macon, GA. passed away Thursday (May 2,2019) at his residence.

Born in Rome, GA. his parents were Samuel Murdock Martin,V and Julia Viola Highsmith Walker. He was also preceded by a brother, Sonny Martin.

Eric was a Maintenance/Supervisor with Idle Hour Country Club and was a member of City Church of Warner Robins, GA.

He loved Mechanic work on machines, autos and such, swimming, golf, racing, cooking, and was a big Georgia Bulldogs Fan. Eric was a firefighter with Glynn County for 16 years. He loved playing ball with his nieces and nephews.

Survivors include his son Steven Martin of Hickox; 4 brothers and a sister-in-law; Samuel Murdock “Marty” Martin,VI (Tracy) 0f Fort, Valley, GA., Adam Martin and William Martin both of Rome, GA. Ricky Walker of Hickox; a sister and her husband, Shannon Martin Rhoden (Clay) of Waynesville, GA., his stepfather; John Walker of Hickox 4 nieces; Marly Rhoden, Clayre Rhoden, Gracie Martin, and Stevi Martin. 2 nephews; Wesley Dean and Derontae Stewart, JR.; 3 cousins and their spouses; Scott Highsmith (Teresa), Austin Highsmith (Angel) and Loften Highsmith all of Hickox, and 2 very special 2nd cousins.

A funeral service will be held Monday (May 6,2019) at 2 PM at Atkinson Church of God of Prophecy with

Pastor Dwayne Evors officiating. Burial will follow at New Hope Cemetery.

Visitation will be held 1 hour prior to service starting at 1 PM at the church.

Pallbearers will be Wesley Dean, Derontae Stewart, JR., Jimbo Howard, George Robert Herrin, Dusty Williams, John Kelly and Shannon Herrin.

Honorary Pallbearers will be The Glynn County Fire Department, and are ask to please meet at the church by 1:15 P.M. Monday (May 6, 2019)
