Elsie Mae Johnson Morgan

April 26, 1919 — June 28, 2018

Nahunta – Elsie Mae Johnson Morgan, 99, of Nahunta passed away Thursday afternoon (June 28, 2018) at her daughter’s residence after an extended illness.

Born in Jesup, GA her parents were Henry Johnson and Rachel Mathis Johnson. She is also preceded in death by her husband, William Earl Morgan; 3 Sons, James Morgan, Douglas Morgan, and Robert Morgan; and also several brothers and sisters.

Elsie was a welder for B & W Shipyard and a member of Monticello Ridge The Church of God. She was a loving pastor’s wife, mother, grandmother and a faithful member of The Church of God. Elsie also loved helping make missionary money by sewing and loved a good shopping trip.

Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Leon & Margie Morgan of Waynesville; 2 daughters, Earline Dowling of Nahunta and Marie Holder of Camden Co; 24 grandchildren; several great grandchildren; several great great grandchildren; and also several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

Visitation will be held Sunday morning (July 1, 2018) from 10am-11am at Monticello Ridge The Church of God.

A funeral service will be held Sunday morning (July 1, 2018) at 11am at Monticello Ridge The Church of God with Pastor David Dowling officiating. Burial will follow in Morgan Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Clifford Morgan, Joey Morgan, James Davis, Ben Holder, Eddie Morgan, and Caleb Morgan.

Arrangements are with Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta.
