Mr. Delmus Jasper Griffin, 68, of Hoboken died Monday afternoon (September 14, 2009) at Satilla Regional Medical Center in Waycross after an extended illness. Born in Hoboken his parents were the late Charlie Eustace and Mary Viola Dowling Griffin. He is also preceded in death by his first wife Mertice Steedley Griffin; an infant son; two brothers, Lawrence and John Elvin Griffin; and a sister, Aleen Lynn. He worked with Johns construction as a heavy equipment operator before he retired. He started Dark Thick Hunting Club and Established Trail Ridge Hunting Club. He is survived by his wife, Cheri Griffin of Hoboken; two daughters, Judy Moore of Raybon and Janet Tyler of Hoboken; 9 grandchildren, Brian & Carla Griffin of Hoboken, Dustin Boone & Ashley Griffin of Waycross, Nolan Hawk Moore of Raybon, Rachel Callie & Phillip Scott of Waycross, Dawn Tyler of FL, Heather & Randy Sullivan of Brunswick, Rick Tyler, Jr. of FL., Justin Diaz Skipper of Waynesville and Brad Allen & Heidi Tyler of Darien; 8 great grandchildren Landon Griffin, Kylee Sky Griffin, Brandon Crews, Dylan Crews, Brent Crews, Austin Sullivan, Jonathon Sullivan, Destiny Tyler, and Haley Tyler; 3 brothers and sisters-in-law, Morris & Joyce Griffin, Carl & Pat Griffin and Wayne & Diane Griffin all of Hoboken; a sister and brother-in-law, Vannie Iris & Olen Carter Hoboken; also several nieces, nephews and other relatives. Visitation will be held Thursday (September 17, 2009) starting at 6 PM at his residence, 29 Palmetto Rd, Hoboken, GA. Funeral services will be held Friday (September 18, 2009) at 11 AM at Frye Funeral Home Chapel, Nahunta with Rev. Mike Yawn and Mr. Larry Griffin officiating. Burial will follow in High Bluff Cemetery, Hoboken. Pallbearers will be Brian Griffin, Justin Skipper, Brad Tyler, Jeremy Griffin, Aaron Griffin, Hawk Moore,Dusty Griffin and Eustace Griffin.
